6/22/2023 EnchantaVaughn Approved 1.Behavior: Upon arrival to the home setting, Ben-Nita appeared to be in a positive mood evident by her facial expressions such as a smile on the face. QMHP-C informed mother as well as Ben-Nita this session focused on respectful interactions, communicating needs, anger management, sibling conflict, and bullying and intimidating behaviors. 2. Behavior: During the second part of the session, Mother engaged her in a discussion surrounding how she needs to implement these behaviors when counseling sessions are in in session. 3. Behavior: During the third portion of the session, Ben-Nita needed some redirection from QMHP-C due to her hitting her brother and utilizing profanity at times within the session. 1.Intervention: QMHP-C began session by inquiring about Ben-Nita’s emotional wellbeing. QMHP-C engaged Ben-Nita in a discussion regarding respectful interactions. QMHP-C modeled the appropriate way to interact with others. QMHP-C asked Ben-Nita several questions to allow her the opportunity to demonstrate how she responds to others in various situations. QMHP-C role played with Ben-Nita about making demands and requests. Ben-Nita was instructed to explain the difference and to discuss the possible outcome of a demand versus a request. 2. Intervention: QMHP-C provided a therapeutic worksheet on managing anger. QMHP-C assisted Ben-Nita with adequate ways to manage her anger across all settings such as school, home, and in the community. QMHP-C utilized puppets to create scenarios to model and suggest to client constructive ways to handle her anger with siblings. QMHP-C taught client about being empathetic to victims (siblings/peers) of her bullying and intimidating behaviors. 3. Intervention: Intervention: QMHP-C taught Ben-Nita that in any case thinking of acceptable and unacceptable behaviors before reacting supports dealing with impulsive behaviors. QMHP-C modeled effective ways for Ben-Nita to communicate with authority figures, and peers. QMHP-C utilized role-rehearsal with Ben-Nita to model ways to show respect to authority figures and learning to use anger management skills when becoming upset and frustrated with others. QMHP-C employed active listening skills as Ben-Nita was able to converse about her angry feelings and acting out behaviors toward others whether authority figures in the school, and/or peers. 1.Response: Ben-Nita demonstrated active listening skills in this session. She provided positive feedback during this session. She was able to answer questions correctly regarding the respectful interactions with others. Ben-Nita had little insight into how her communication approach is towards others. She does not understand the concept of making demands and requests. She did begin to gain insight when some of the possible results that the QMHP-C explained were discussed with her.. 2.Response: She continues to struggle with managing her anger but did share that she is now able to recognize factors that makes her angry. She gained awareness into more constructive ways to manage her anger with her siblings. She continues to display bossy behaviors with her siblings that result in verbal altercations. QMHP-C denies bullying her peers or siblings. 3. Response: Ben-Nita was able to demonstrate to QMHP-C effective communication skills when expressing her thoughts and feelings about certain situations that occur within the community and home setting; however, she continues to be able to explain to QMHP-C why things make her so upset and why she is not able to handle herself in an assertive manner.
